CNET Library Workshop: Searches, Sources, and Research

What is a database?

A  database is an index, or finding aid, to locate journal articles, eBooks, book chapters, newspaper articles, et cetera. Often databases are about a specific subject or subjects, though some databases can cover lots of topics. Some databases are free, like Google Scholar, and some are purchased by the Library, usually annually.

You can see all of the Library's databases, A-Z, here by title; you can also search them by subject.
